For Students
How do I book a session with a tutor?
Browse our tutors, select one you like, choose a time slot from their availability, and send a booking request. The tutor has 24 hours to confirm. Your credits are only charged when they accept.
How do credits work?
Credits are our payment system. Recharge via InstaPay, then use credits to book sessions. Credits never expire and are only deducted when a tutor confirms your booking.
Can I message a tutor before booking?
Yes! We encourage you to message tutors to discuss your learning goals and ensure they're the right fit before booking.
How do I join a video call?
When your session starts, go to your booking details and click 'Join Call'. You'll be connected via Jitsi - no download required, works in your browser.
How do I cancel or reschedule a session?
Go to your bookings, find the session, and click cancel. Cancellations more than 24 hours before the session receive a full refund. See our cancellation policy for details.
What if my tutor doesn't show up?
If a tutor doesn't join within 15 minutes, you can report the no-show. You'll receive a full refund and we'll follow up with the tutor.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds are automatic for cancelled sessions (following our policy) and no-shows. For other issues, contact our support team.
For Tutors
How do I become a tutor?
Sign up as a tutor, complete your profile with subjects and availability, upload verification documents, and submit for review. Once approved, you can start accepting bookings.
How do I get paid?
Earnings from completed sessions are added to your balance. Request a payout anytime - we send payments via InstaPay within 24-48 hours.
What are the platform fees?
Ostazi takes a 15% service fee from each completed session. You receive 85% of your set rate.
How do I set my rates?
Go to Dashboard > Profile to set your hourly rate. You can set different rates for different session types (online, in-person).
Can I reject or cancel a booking?
Yes, you can decline any booking request within 24 hours. We encourage responding promptly - students appreciate quick responses.
What if a student doesn't show up?
If a student doesn't join within 15 minutes, you can report the no-show. You'll receive 50% of the session fee as compensation.
How long does verification take?
Most tutors are verified within 24-48 hours. You'll need a government-issued ID and any relevant qualifications.
